2024-01-05

DP World Posorja started in 2024, marking a new milestone in its fourth year of operations with the arrival of the Post-Panamax Maersk Evora, which officially inaugurates the exclusive calls of the Maersk line to the port operated by D.P. World in Ecuador. The Maersk Evora ship left Shanghai, passing through Manzanillo and Lázaro Cárdenas in Mexico before reaching Posorja in Ecuador. The vessel has a LOA (length) of 366 meters, a beam (width) of 48 meters, and a draft that can reach a depth of 15 meters. Its maximum cargo capacity is 13,100 TEUS. The weekly AC2 service officially arrived with this ship, whose fleet calls exclusively at the public terminal of Posorja, connecting Ecuador with Asia.

The arrival of Maersk to D.P. World Posorja also implies the addition of two other shipping services: ECUMED, which strategically connects Ecuador with Europe and the Guayaquil Feeder regional service, an intra-American route of great commercial value. Each service has vessels whose lengths measure between 180 and 366 meters, have a capacity of up to 15,000 TEUS and will move cargoes of essential Ecuadorian products, such as bananas, for the growth of the country's economy more quickly and efficiently.

According to the latest World Bank ranking, D.P. World Posorja has been classified as the most efficient on the American continent and number 19 globally.
