Chile: First Cool Carriers Ship with Grapes Leaves to the West Coast of the United States

2023-12-29

The South Pacific Terminal (TPS) bid farewell to Cool Carriers' first reefer vessel with pallets of fruit bound for the West Coast of the United States, which takes place within the framework of the 2023-2024 fruit season.

This was achieved with the departure of the Ivar Reefer vessel of the exact shipping company after loading a little more than 1,900 pallets at Site 5 of the concessionaire of the Port of Valparaíso.

The shipping company offers the service to the U.S. market, linking -in this case- Chile with the Outer Port 54/55 of SSA Marine and Yussen Terminals LLC (YTI), located in the Los Angeles port area.  The Ivar Reefer is en route to the Puerto Coquimbo Terminal (TPC) and is expected to arrive on Friday, December 29. It will ship 4,376 pallets with fruit and 23 40-foot reefer containers.  It is estimated to depart on Sunday, January 31, from Coquimbo and begin its journey to the Port of Los Angeles, where it is estimated to arrive on Thursday, January 11, 2024.

In line with what was reported in the Cool Carriers itinerary program, the second vessel to perform this same service will be the Ice Runner on January 3, which will operate at the Valparaíso Port Terminal (TPV).

Cool Carriers kicked off TPS's 2023-2024 fruit export season on December 11 with a departure to the U.S. East Coast.
