The National Banana Corporation (CORBANA) updated the "Model for the formulation of a recommendation of the minimum starting price for a box of bananas", which was presented to the producers, banana marketers and representatives of the three Ministries that signed the Executive Decree fixing the minimum price for the banana box for export. 

Based on the Law on the Promotion of Competition and Effective Consumer Protection, No. 7472, article 5, paragraph 4, for the eventual fixing of the minimum price of bananas for export by the Executive, based on the Law No. 4895 of CORBANA and its amendments, article 4 (ll), the recommendation has been sent to the Ministry of Economy. Industry and Commerce (MEIC) update for the minimum starting price to USD 9.65 per box of top quality of 18.14 kilograms, FOB modality.
