Vado Gateway and Reefer Terminal announce that the regional investment manager for the Americas of APM Terminals, Santi Casciano, has been appointed the new CEO of the two terminals in Vado Ligure (Savona) with effect from December 15.

The Vado Gateway port system includes the new deep-sea container terminal, the most crucial port infrastructure built in Italy in recent decades and among the most technologically advanced terminals in the Mediterranean, and the adjacent Reefer Terminal, the largest fruit logistics hub of the Mediterranean capable of also accommodating dry containers dedicated to the transport of goods that do not require controlled temperatures.

Casciano, 44 years old, with a master's degree in business administration from the Copenhagen Business School, boasts a long professional career in shipping, where he followed development projects in numerous foreign markets. Having joined the Maersk Group in 2000, he has worked in Italy, Denmark, Spain, and Panama. In April 2020, he moved to APM Terminals, where he served as regional business development manager for Latin America, subsequently becoming a member of the board of directors of Sociedad Portuaria Terminal de Contenedores de Buenaventura S.A. and, in August 2022, regional investment manager for the Americas.
