The King of Spain, Felipe VI, will host a lunch on Friday, November 3, for the president-elect of Ecuador, Daniel Noboa, who is visiting Madrid during a visit to Europe, hoping to gain support for some of his main projects.
Noboa, who on October 15 won the second round of the presidential elections, will assume the presidency on December 1.
Noboa's tour began in Madrid last October 20 when he met with members of the Ibero-American General Secretariat (Segib) to discuss preparations for the next Ibero-American Summit in Quito in 2024.
He also met with representatives of the Spanish Confederation of Business Organizations (CEOE) to promote investments in his country.
From Italy, his second stop in Europe, the president-elect of Ecuador spoke by telephone with the acting Spanish Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, who reiterated his administration's support for the European Union (EU) to exempt Ecuadorians from visas for short-stay trips in the Schengen area.
During his last visit to Madrid, Noboa plans to meet with members of the Business Council Alliance for Ibero-America (Ceapi), where the president of that entity, Nuria Vilanova, and the president of the business platform Latin America Invest, Damian Valenzuela, will also be present.
