FRUIT LOGISTICA 2027 brings innovation together in the new Innovation Zone

2026-09-15

The new Innovation Zone will showcase the entire product innovation cycle, from market launch to proven success. The new Innovation Zone will be located in Hall 3.2.

With the new Innovation Zone, FRUIT LOGISTICA further strengthens its position as the international innovation platform for the fresh produce industry. From February 3 to 5, 2027, the Berlin event will bring together its most important innovation formats for the first time to create a cohesive ecosystem.

Guided by the principle of "One Innovation Journey — From New to Proven Success," the Innovation Zone will demonstrate how the entire innovation cycle progresses, from developing new products and solutions to successfully establishing them in the market and ensuring their long-term success. The focus is on the FRUIT LOGISTICA Innovation Award (FLIA), the FRUIT LOGISTICA Innovation Showcases (FLIS), and the Innovation Stage. Together, these features create a central hub for innovative companies in Hall 3.2.

Christina Freier, the project director for FRUIT LOGISTICA, said, "Innovations have always been a central part of FRUIT LOGISTICA. With the new Innovation Zone, we are bringing them together in one place for the first time. This creates a central platform where innovative companies can present their developments to an international audience of industry professionals, establish valuable contacts, and increase their visibility in the market in a sustainable way.”

Seeking the Latest Innovations: FRUIT LOGISTICA Innovation Award

For over 20 years, the FRUIT LOGISTICA Innovation Award (FLIA) has recognized innovative products, services, and technologies in the fresh fruit industry. Solutions that have been on the market for no more than 12 months by the time of FRUIT LOGISTICA in February will now be showcased in the Innovation Zone. Another new feature is that nominees will present their products or solutions on the new Innovation Stage to a professional audience interested in the industry. In 2027, the FLIA will be presented on the first day of the trade show, marking the beginning of the innovation showcase at FRUIT LOGISTICA.

Applications for the FLIA are now being accepted on this website.

Market-Proven Solutions on Display: FRUIT LOGISTICA Innovation Showcases

The New Product Showcases held thus far will be expanded and incorporated into the FRUIT LOGISTICA Innovation Showcases (FLIS). While the FLIA focuses on the latest developments, the FLIS showcases innovations that have already proven their outstanding significance and have been on the market for one to three years.

For visitors, the event answers a key question: Which innovations are already proving successful in practice? At the same time, innovative companies have the opportunity to present their solutions to an international audience of industry professionals after their market launch. They can also present their solutions in a pitch on stage.

The Innovation Stage as a Hub for Communication

The FRUIT LOGISTICA Innovation Stage is at the heart of the new innovation ecosystem. In addition to the FLIA awards ceremony, the program features presentations by FLIS partners, expert discussions, examples of best practices, and presentations on future trends, sustainability, technology, and automation.

During the three-day trade show, the stage will serve as a vital space for knowledge transfer and exchange and for establishing new business contacts. It will provide a central meeting place for companies and industry experts to discuss the future of the global fresh produce industry.

Orientation and Visibility in One Place

FRUIT LOGISTICA consolidates the Innovation Journey in terms of both space and content, making it easier for trade visitors to find their way around the exhibition grounds. Visitors can discover new solutions, test their practical applicability, learn from successful use cases, and connect directly with the companies behind the innovations.
