In week 04, banana selling price for Ecuadorian bananas, in St. Petersburg was USD 20.00 to USD 20.35  per box CIF on Monday and Tuesday. From Tuesday onward, traders aimed to achieve a price of USD 23.95 per box CIF,  but they initially struggled to meet this target. Prices were according to brand, volume, packing and weight.

Approximately 2.35 million boxes were discharged, and nearly 2.38 million boxes are expected for week 05. The exchange rate was 76.04 Rubles for 1 USD.

Prices for Ecuadorian bananas in the Mediterranean ranged from USD 16.00 to USD 17.00 per box CIF, depending on the brand, volume, region, and packing. 

In the Mersin Free Zone, prices for Ecuadorian bananas re-exported to neighbouring countries ranged from USD 15.50 per box to USD 17.50 influenced by factors such as brand, volume, packing, and weight. 

In comparison, bananas from Central America were quoted at approximately USD 2.00 to USD 3.00 per box less.  Additionally, the USD was valued at 43.26 TL.

In the Iranian domestic market prices were around 120.000 Toman  or IRT per kg for Indian bananas and around 150.000 IRT for Ecuadorian bananas. The local currency slightly increased compared to the USD which exchanged at 140.000-141.000 IRT compared to around 147.000-149.000 the previous week.

The 13.50 kg box of bananas from India sold at USD 7.90-8.30 CIF Bandar Abbas.

Prices in the Ecuadorian spot market began at approximately the official price at the start of trading. This initial pricing was influenced by the volume of products from the previous week that could not be shipped due to a lack of containers, limited ship space, or delayed arrivals.  By Tuesday, prices had already risen to USD 8.00-9.50 per box and remained stable at USD 9.50-10.50 per box for the rest of the week. Additionally, there were reports of congestion at the ports of Guayaquil and Posorja.

In the Chartering Market, time charter rates remained nearly unchanged from the previous week, around 70-75 US cents per cbft per month and 80-85 US cents per cbft per month.
