According to the Cameroon Banana Association (Assobacam), the country exported 14,639 tons of bananas that month, a decrease of 1,798 tons (10.9%) compared to the 16,437 tons exported in July. This downturn impacted all major players in the banana industry.

The Mondoni Banana Development Company (CDBM) followed with a 13.17% decline, exporting a total of 1,463 tons. Haut Penja Plantations (PHP) exported 9,087 tons, also reflecting a 10.9% decrease.

The decline was also notable compared to the previous year. In August 2025, 1,466 tons (9.1%) fewer bananas were exported than in August 2024, when 16,105 tons were shipped. During this period, PHP and BPL experienced the most considerable declines, with decreases of 20.45% (2,337 tons) and 36% (472 tons), respectively. In contrast, both CDC and CDBM reported substantial increases in exports, rising by 43.2% and 32.7%, respectively, compared to August 2024.
