Maersk Enhances Connectivity Between Europe, Central America and the United States
2025-01-31

Maersk is excited to announce the expansion of its maritime connections between Europe, Central America, and the United States, with new calls in Philadelphia and Port Everglades. The innovative 'TA5' service, set to launch in February, promises to provide a reliable and efficient shipping solution.
This new service establishes a vital link between Northern Europe and Philadelphia, utilizing the westbound route of Hapag-Lloyd's established 'CES' service. As reported by Alphaliner, this strategic partnership enhances the flow of goods between Northern Europe, the East Coast of the United States, and Central America.
The 'CES' service is renowned for its efficiency in transporting refrigerated containers, catering to the growing demand for fresh fruit exports from Central America to Northern Europe.
The Maersk' TA5' service will feature an extensive seven-week itinerary, calling at key ports including Antwerp, London Gateway, Hamburg, Rotterdam, and debut locations such as Philadelphia and Port Everglades, replacing Norfolk and Kingston. This expansion not only optimizes our service but also caters to the evolving needs of our customers.
Seven modern vessels, each with a capacity of 2,570 to 2,860 TEUs, will operate on this route. The journey will kick off with the "Puerto Limón Express," set to depart London Gateway on February 19, marking a significant milestone in our service capabilities.
While 'TA5' operates in collaboration with Hapag-Lloyd, it's important to note that this service stands apart from the Gemini Cooperation network, ensuring dedicated and focused service for our clients. Join us in celebrating this new chapter as we continue strengthening the supply chain between these crucial markets.
