Plátano de Canarias and Ausolan Renew Their Alliance
2025-01-24

Plátano de Canarias and Ausolan have renewed their collaboration to continue promoting healthy eating and consuming national products from childhood. Thanks to this agreement, more than 1,700 schools will receive Canary Islands bananas weekly, a food that stands out for its quality, unique flavour, and high social and environmental sustainability standards.
This initiative is supported by the Association of Canary Islands Banana Producers' Organizations (ASPROCAN) and the collaboration of companies specialising in banana ripening, such as Mercamusa and Frutas Iru. "In our school canteens, we prioritise healthy and sustainable menus, where fresh and high-quality products are essential. The Canary Islands banana fully meets these conditions," said Mikel Olarte, marketing director of Ausolan.
For his part, Sergio Cáceres, manager and marketing director of ASPROCAN, highlighted:
"The collaboration with Ausolan is a reference model. Our goal is to enhance this collaboration so that the Canary Islands banana reaches not only schools but also the homes of Spanish families."
Between March and June of this year, the "Get Active with Canary Islands Banana" campaign will be carried out, benefiting more than 5,000 children aged 8 to 12 in 60 school canteens in regions such as Madrid, Andalusia, Catalonia, Levante, the Basque Country, Navarra, and Asturias.
The initiative, part of Ausolan's educational project, aims to promote healthy habits through midday physical activities in schoolyards. These activities will encourage the consumption of fruits like the Canary Islands banana and promote an active lifestyle from an early age.
