2025-01-03

DP World San Antonio concluded the 2024 cherry season with an increase of more than 100% in export volume compared to the previous year, with 11 ship calls and nearly 5,400 containers of exported cargo, more than 12.8 million boxes of cherries. This increase allowed the export of cherries through important shipping lines such as ZIM, MSC, MSK and Global Reefer, guaranteeing greater logistical capacity and efficiency. Juan Carlos Carvacho, Operations Senior Manager of DP World San Antonio, explained that "the planning together with the shipping lines and transport companies was very successful, achieving timely attention throughout the chain. It was a challenging season with very good results at the dock and in the yard."

«The last ship serviced is the MSC Ilenia, 366 m long and 51 m wide, which set sail from our terminal on December 31 and, despite the announcements of rough seas, remained docked and worked safely thanks to our MoorMaster system, unique in Chile, which allows for reduced ship movements and thus a safe operation for our workers, ships and port facilities, in addition to improving productivity.»

Carvacho added, «We have operated with our export scheduling system, which facilitated and accelerated the entry process, optimising times and increasing operational efficiency. In addition, we have more than 2,700 reefer connections, which ensured the availability of connections for all units to meet the growing market demand. »
