Plátano de Canarias Celebrates the European Championship with Those in Need

In a compassionate gesture that combines a passion for football with helping those most in need, Plátano de Canarias has announced a generous donation following the Spanish national team's victory in the Eurocup. The Canarian company, known for its social commitment, will transform goals into significant food delivery.
After the thrilling Eurocup final in Berlin, where Spain clinched the title, Plátano de Canarias made a valuable commitment: to donate over 1.5 million bananas to the Spanish Federation of Food Banks (FESBAL). These bananas will reach Spanish families facing food poverty.
Plátano de Canarias's initiative, previously announced on their social media before the Eurocup semifinal and final on July 14, translated into a concrete donation: 200,000 kilograms of Plátano de Canarias, equivalent to more than one and a half million bananas. Each goal the Spanish national team scored became a tangible contribution to those in greatest need.
Sergio Cáceres, Manager and Director of Marketing and Communication at Plátano de Canarias, expressed, "Unfortunately, there is a harsh reality of food insecurity in many households day-to-day, and we try to raise awareness and contribute our part in these moments." This charitable gesture reflects the company's social responsibility and commitment to the community.
Since 2013, Plátano de Canarias and FESBAL have maintained a close collaboration. Fruit donations, including bananas, occur at various times throughout the year and benefit cities such as Madrid, Barcelona, Sevilla, and 56 other peninsular localities where Food Banks operate. In total, the number of donated bananas exceeds 7 million kilograms.
