Colombian Agricultural Exports Soar by 22.9% in April Year over Year

In April 2024, Colombia's agricultural and agro-industrial sectors saw a significant export increase, totalling USD 947 million. This represents a 22.9% increase compared to April 2023, as the nation's Ministry of Agriculture reported. Banana exports demonstrated the most substantial growth, increasing by USD 66.6 million yearly, a remarkable 100.3% increase. This was followed by coffee, which saw an increase of USD 48 million (22.7%), and flowers, which increased by USD 32.2 million (22.4%).

In terms of volume, April's exports of agricultural and agro-industrial products reached a staggering 549,775 tons, marking a 38% increase compared to April 2023.

This surge in April continues a trend that has been evident throughout the year. Overall, in the first four months of the year, agricultural exports have risen by 8.5% compared to the same period in 2023, reaching a total of USD 3.6 billion and 1.94 million tons of products.
