ORBCOMM launches next-generation CT 3600 reefer container device
2024-06-28
ORBCOMM, a global leader in maritime logistics, unveiled its next-generation CT 3600 reefer container monitoring device on June 26, 2024. The CT 3600 is engineered to streamline reefer container monitoring installation, deployment, and management for shipping lines and container leasing companies, minimising downtime and boosting efficiency.
Christian Allred, ORBCOMM's SVP and G.M. of Maritime Logistics, acknowledged the complexities of maritime IoT deployments, including intricate technology stacks and the sheer volume of devices involved in mass deployments. He emphasised that the CT 3600, the latest addition to ORBCOMM's reefer monitoring solution, simplifies constructing and managing an intelligent connected container fleet. The new generation of ORBCOMM's reefer container monitoring solution, supported by an iOS and Android app, has been optimised to simplify reefer IoT application installation, deployment, and management. The CT 3600 reefer monitoring device, a vital feature of this solution, can be installed much faster than ORBCOMM's previous solution and offers quick deployment without compromising performance and coverage.
The CT 3600 is installed and cabled from the reefer controller cabinet without drilling, which helps prevent potential container damage, reduce third-party installation costs, and deter device theft or tampering. It boasts a durable internal rechargeable battery, wireless Bluetooth sensor support, compatibility with refrigerated containers from all four major OEMs, and compliance with DCSA interoperability standards.
Allred concluded by stating that when people think of refrigerated container transportation, they think of ORBCOMM. With this new reefer container monitoring solution, ORBCOMM continues its legacy of innovation over thirty years ago, delivering top-tier reefer technology that provides businesses with the data they need to make informed fleet decisions.
